About us africaberlin1884
We are driven by a shared commitment to address and raise awareness of the profound and enduring impacts of the Berlin Conference of 1884-1885, where European powers arbitrarily divided Africa, disregarding its intricate social, and cultural landscapes. For example, we have the Ewes divided between Ghana, Togo, Benin and Nigeria.
Our commitment to educate and foster understanding of the historical and ongoing impact of colonization and how to rewrite our history and overcome the consequences of colonisation.
Our organization was born out of a need to shed light on this historical event and its far-reaching consequences, which have contributed to a myriad of issues still facing the continent today. These include widespread racism, loss of self-esteem, tribalism, conflict within the continent, lack of unity, artificial national borders leading to immigration challenges; our people embarking on the dangerous immigration journey to Europe, language barriers, mismanagement of natural resources, and deteriorating terms of trade.
Our Mission Africaberlin1884
We want to educate and empower communities. We strive to dismantle the remnants of colonialism that continue to sow division and discrimination. Our ultimate goal is a future where African nations and peoples reclaim their dignity, autonomy, fostering unity and prosperity across the continent and beyond.
