AfricaBerlin1884 is an association founded by a passionate group of African women from both the diaspora and the African mainland. After the Arab slave trade and the abolition of the trans-Atlantic slave trade, Africa went through another trauma called the Berlin Conference of 1884 to 1885.

We are driven by a shared commitment to address and raise awareness of the profound and enduring impacts of the Berlin Conference of 1884–1885, where European powers divided Africa, disregarding its intricate social and cultural landscapes. For example, the Ewe people were divided between Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Nigeria.

Our commitment is to educate and foster understanding of the historical and ongoing impact of colonization. These include widespread racism, loss of self-esteem, poverty, tribalism, conflict within the continent, lack of unity, artificial national borders leading to immigration challenges, our people embarking on dangerous immigration journeys to Europe, language barriers, and how to overcome these consequences by creating opportunities.

At AfricaBerlin1884, our mission is to reunite the continent, educate, and empower communities. We strive to dismantle the remnants of colonialism that continue to sow division and discrimination. Our ultimate goal is a future where African nations and peoples reclaim their dignity and autonomy, fostering unity and prosperity across the world.
